About

Career guides built on
what employers actually write

JobRoadmaps helps people plan a career step by step: what a role involves, what to learn first, and which books and courses are worth their time.

Why we built it

Much career advice is written by people who do not do the hiring, and it ages quickly. We wanted a guide that starts from the job itself and shows the path into it.

Each roadmap covers the stages of a role, the skills and tools that come up most often, and the reading and courses that help at each stage. We keep the material current as the market changes.

Editorial principles

Grounded in real job postings

Our guides start from what employers write in live job postings, not from general career advice. Where a claim cannot be grounded that way, we say so or leave it out.

Honest about limits

Job postings are written before the hiring team knows who will apply, so they often list more than anyone enforces. We say this where it matters, and we do not present a posting as a guarantee.

A clear point of view

We give opinions and say when a path is worth the time and when it is not. Where we are giving our read rather than a fact, we say that.
